Plot [edit]

Members of a loving family -- George and Ann Farber, their son Georgie, and their dog -- arrive at their lake house. Their next-door neighbor, Fred, is seen with two young men, Peter and Paul, who seem to be friends or relatives. The young men come over to borrow eggs. Ann is in the kitchen cooking while George and Georgie are outside by the lake, tending to their boat. They seem friendly, and they admire a golf club belonging to George.
After leaving, Peter and Paul return with the eggs broken. They request more eggs, which also end up broken, Ann becomes frustrated, but when George tries to force the men to leave, Peter breaks George's leg with the golf club. The family is taken hostage.
Ann tries to call for help on a cell phone, but finds it unusable, Peter having dropped it in the sink. Paul then guides Ann on a hunt to find the family's dog, which he has killed with George's golf club. When neighbors visit, Ann passes the two men off as friends.
The family is forced to participate in a number of sadistic games in order to stay alive. Paul asks if George or Ann wants to bet that they will be alive by 9:00 in the morning, doubting that they will be. Between playing their games, the two men keep up a constant patter. Paul frequently ridicules Peter's weight and lack of intelligence. He describes a number of contradicting stories of Peter's past, though no definitive explanation is ever presented as to the men's origins or motives.
Georgie tries to escape. He attempts to climb a locked gate but changes his mind and goes to the neighbors' empty house. Georgie attempts to shoot Paul with a shotgun, but the gun fails to go off. Paul returns him to the living room, along with the shotgun.
The men play a new game, saying whoever gets counted out will be shot. Georgie panics and makes a run for his life, which results in Peter shooting and killing him. Paul is a little annoyed that Peter didn't follow the rules of their game to the letter.
George and Ann weep for their loss. They eventually resolve to survive. Ann is able to flee the house while George, with a broken leg, desperately tries to make a call on the malfunctioning phone. Ann struggles to find help, only to be re-captured by Peter and Paul, who return her to the house. After stabbing George, they attempt to force Ann to make a choice for her husband, between a painful, prolonged death with the knife or a quick death with the shotgun.
Ann seizes the shotgun on the table in front of her and kills Peter. An enraged Paul grabs the shotgun and starts looking for the television remote. Upon finding it, he literally rewinds all the day's occurrences back to a moment before Ann grabs the shotgun, thereby breaking the fourth wall. On the "do over," Paul snatches the shotgun away and admonishes her, saying she isn't allowed to break the rules.
Peter and Paul then kill George and they take Ann, bound and gagged, out onto the family's boat. Around eight o'clock in the morning, they nonchalantly throw her into the water to drown, thus winning their bet. They dock at the house of the neighbors who had previously visited the family. They request some eggs, thereby restarting their cycle of murder.

Release [edit]

The film made its British premiere at the London Film Festival on October 20, 2007.[6][7] Its United States premiere was at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival on January 19, 2008. It began a limited release in the United States and Canada on March 14, 2008, distributed by Warner Independent.[8] A wider release to more theaters came on April 8, 2008. The film was shown at the Istanbul Film Festival in April 2008. It did not receive a wide theatrical release in the United States before coming out on DVD. Funny Games was a box office failure, grossing a little more than half of its $15 million budget. Guardian writer Geoffrey Macnab included Funny Games's lack of success among the reasons for the closure of Tartan Films, which co-produced the film and released it in the United Kingdom.[9] In Germany, the film was released under the title "Funny Games U.S.".[10]
Home media [edit]
The DVD was released on June 10, 2008, in the US. The DVD does not contain any extra material but instead it includes both widescreen and full screen editions on one disc. In the UK, the DVD and Blu-ray were released on July 28 with the extra material being the original theatrical trailer, Q&A with producers Hamish McAlpine and Chris Coen, interviews with the cast, viral video clips and film notes.
Critical reception [edit]

The film received mixed reviews from critics. As of September 6, 2008, the review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes reported that 52% of critics gave the film positive reviews, based on 132 reviews.[11] Metacritic reported the film had an average score of 41 out of 100, based on 33 reviews.[12]
Todd Gilchrist from IGN called the film "Unrelenting and brilliant, Funny Games is a truly great film – an incisive, artistic triumph that doubles as a remarkably thrilling and unique cinematic experience." Conversely, Joshua Rothkopf from Time Out New York called the film "a sour project that defines anti-imaginative."[13] A.O. Scott of the New York Times wrote: "At least with the remake Funny Games, Mr. Haneke shows a certain kinship with someone like Eli Roth, whose Hostel movies have brought nothing but scorn from responsible critics."[14] The Chicago Sun-Times review of March 14, 2008 gave the film a mere half-star out of a possible four.
The Times of London ranked it #25 on its 100 Worst Films of 2008 list.[15]
Soundtrack [edit]

The music in the introduction and the closing credits is "Bonehead" by Naked City from the album Torture Garden.

Sports Games

Sports Games History

Source(Google.com.pk)

Sporting events and changes are influenced by the current economic, social and political situations. In sociology we have the following approaches to the study of sport - Functionalism, Marxism, Social action and Interactionism. Each has a different view on society, the place of sport in society and the changes in sport over time.

Medieval period (1200 - 1485)

People had little time or energy for recreational activities
Leisure time activities were confined to feast days
Games were local in nature, each village having its own traditional activities
From time to time the government would ban these traditional activities in favour of archery training
Tudor and Stuart period (1485 - 1714)

Traditional folk games and activities flourished in Tudor times
Puritanism greatly reduced the opportunities to play and types of activity allowed
After the restoration in 1660, traditional activities were revived
Sport moved away from its link with merrymaking
Hanoverian period (1714 - 1790)

Play and sport were largely ignored by the government
People of all classes enjoyed their leisure to the full
Increasing industrialisation demanded regular working patterns
There was some pressure for Sunday to be a day of rest
Large gatherings for sport often meant social disorder
Regular, organised, rule-governed sport on a national scale emerged
Changing times (1790 -1830)

Traditional sport was under attack from all sides
Factory owners wanted a regular working week
Property owners feared the damage caused by large crowds
Churches criticised idleness, drunkenness and slack morality
Commercialisation of sport developed, especially in horse racing, cricket and prize fighting
Victorian Sport (1830 - 1901)

Sport developed in the context of industrial capitalism and class inequality
Sport became linked to a moral code defined by the middle classes:
it was accepted that sport developed character and morality
competition had to be fair and rule-governed with similar conditions for all players
sport was to be played, not for reward, but for its own sake
Nationwide sport developed through the influence of technology, the public schools and the national governing bodies
For the masses, Saturday afternoon free from work was the turning point, enabling them to play and spectate
Amateur and professional sport became increasingly separated
Working class sport in school was limited largely to drill and therapeutic gymnastics

Edwardian Sport (1901 - 1918)

Organised sporting involvement expanded rapidly across all classes
Increasingly, the different classes played their sport separately
Public school athleticism still dominated sport
Male working class influence increased, notably in football in England and rugby in Wales. However, working class women were largely excluded from sporting involvement
Commercialisation of sport continued with large numbers of spectators and increased numbers of professionals in major sports
Sport was increasingly a matter of national concern
Between the world wars (1918 - 1940)

Steady growth in sports participation continued for all classes of society, although working class were least involved
Most sports were still class orientated
Football (in all its versions) continued to increase in popularity and by the 1930s, was the most popular sporting activity
Lack of facilities became an issue, particularly when national teams failed
There was little government involvement in sport, apart from physical education in schools
School physical education moved from therapeutic exercises to creative physical training
Commercialisation of sport expanded rapidly, especially the provision for spectator sport
Sport, as a part of a national culture, now extended to the majority of the population
British Sport (1940 - Today)

An improved standard of living enabled greater participation in sport for most social groups
Amateur administrators only reluctantly allowed commercial forces to enter the world of sport
Professional sports people had a long battle to be given fair rewards
Television coverage increased in importance for sport and the sponsors
The definition of amateurism for competition was replaced by the concept of eligibility
Central government involvement in sport has always been fragmentary
There has been a long standing under funding of sport by central government
An advisory Sports Council was established in 1965 and the independent executive Sports Council in 1972
Physical education was established in the 1944 Act for its educational value
The movement approach conflicted with traditional games teaching
Physical education moved away from educational values towards physical recreation and more recently towards health-related fitness
Various academic qualifications in physical education stimulated scrutiny of the subject (for example, BEd, CSE, GCSE, A-Level)
Physical education is now established in the national curriculum as a foundation subject
There has been an increasing influence of market forces on schools, physical education, sports facilities and sport

Online 3d Games

Online 3d Games History

Source(Google.com.pk)

This is a list of stereoscopic 3D PlayStation 3 games released or planned for release on Blu-ray Disc or for download through the PlayStation Store. Some titles have been patched after release to receive 3D features.
For a chronological list, click the button in the 'First released' column.
For technical information, such as resolution and install sizes, see the individual games' page.
There are currently 62 (exclusive: 32; multi-platform: 30; PlayStation Network: 21; PlayStation Move compatible: 26; Upcoming: 1; Existing: 61) games on this list.
The column "Exclusive" indicates whether the PS3 is the only platform on which the game is available. This does not include hand-held game consoles or mobile phones which generally run a completely different version of the game under the same name. A value of "Console" for exclusivity means that, while a title may be available as an arcade game or on a PC using Microsoft Windows, Unix/Linux, or Mac OS X, it is not available on any other video game console in its native mode. The "Move" column indicates whether or not the game is compatible with PlayStation Move, while the "Media" column indicates whether the game is available on Blu-ray Disc or for download through the PlayStation Store. The "SimulView" column indicates the game supports the ability for two players to use the 3D functionality (with glasses) to enable different simultaneous fullscreen views of the screen at the same time (rather than using a splitscreen).
